My husband and I began our married life in England where I had the privilege of visiting the acclaimed potter, Lucie Rie, in her studio. From her I learned of an equally acclaimed potter, Hans Coper. Their example as artists inspired me to think of ceramics as an art form I could pursue. After we left England for Ithaca, NY I attended SUNY Alfred's College Of Ceramics summer school to learn the basics for a practicing ceramist. Val Cushing was my tutor. Art can inspire. Art can teach us to use our eyes to see the world differently. At its best I hope my art does both.
