Gary Magakis, Lanny Bergner, Graceann Warn, and Eileen Sutton come together to present an elegant array of works in a variety of color, texture, medium, and aesthetic.
Documenting the extraordinary growth of Philadelphia as a major design and creative center, Design Philadelphia will celebrate its 10th anniversary October 9 –17 with a festival of more than 120 events during this nine-day festival. To complement Design Philadelphia’s activities, Snyderman-Works Galleries will install a unique collaboration of work by four artist/designers: Lanny Bergner, Gary Magakis, Eileen Sutton, and Graceann Warn.
Lanny Bergner has a long history of creating large-scale installations of his wire mesh and mixed media sculptures at museums throughout the United States.
Gary Magakis’ architectural lamps and custom-designed bronze and patinated steel furniture have been featured in national design showcases as Todd Merrill Studios and the Architectural Digest Home Show in New York.
Eileen Sutton’s bold combination of colored enamels and geometrics, referencing the strong curvilinear forms of the art deco movement, bring a more intimate, personal approach to this design collaboration.
Graceann Warn’s visually active mixed media encaustic constructions take the place of traditional wall-hung paintings in this diverse array of artworks.
These four artists are joined together by their design aesthetic. Their different mediums together present an elegant array of works in a variety of color, texture, medium, and aesthetic.
