For the last four years, Philadelphia attorney Francine Friedman Griesing has regularly transformed the large public spaces of her law offices on the 36th floor of Three Logan Square, 1717 Arch Street, into exhibition space, sponsoring curated exhibits by prominent Philadelphia area artists and galleries.
Visiting a gallery or an artist’s studio can be an intimidating experience for many people. Presenting artwork in this more informal setting creates a comfortable and accessible environment for professionals working and living in the greater Philadelphia region.
Fran, who has been an advocate for the arts in Philadelphia for many years, created this program after opening the doors of her firm, Griesing Law in 2010. She saw this as an opportunity to share an evening that brings together business professionals and members of the local business community with leading and emerging artists.
For this exhibit, she has invited well-known gallerists Ruth and Rick Snyderman, of Snyderman-Works Galleries in Old City, to organize a three-person, 26 work exhibit of paintings and works on paper by Keith Ragone, Larry Spaid and Jason Spivack, all of whom have well-established careers in the city. Ragone is a distinguished graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts; Spaid is an Emeritus Professor at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art who also taught in their Rome, Tokyo and Philadelphia campuses; Spivack, who studied under Spaid in Philadelphia, went on to do his graduate work at the Royal College of Art in London.
